District Development Committee Reviews Progress of Key Development Sectors in Morigaon

  • The monthly meeting of the District Development Committee (DDC) was held at the conference hall of the District Commissioner’s office in Morigaon under the chairpersonship of District Commissioner Anamika Tewari. The meeting reviewed the progress and functioning of various departments and assessed the implementation of key developmental programmes across the district.During the review of the School Education Department, the District Commissioner stressed the importance of achieving 100 percent enrollment of girl children in schools and directed officials to take necessary measures to prevent school dropouts among girls. She also emphasised the promotion of equality among students through inclusive classroom practices and regular rotation of seating arrangements.Reviewing the Health Department, the District Commissioner instructed officials to ensure timely immunization of all children through proper planning and encouraged girls aged 14–15 years to avail the HPV vaccine for the prevention of cervical cancer. She further directed the concerned authorities to take necessary measures to prevent any illegal activities within Morigaon Civil Hospital.The meeting also reviewed the status of paddy procurement, PM Fasal Bima Yojana, farmer registration, Kisan Credit Cards, Soil Health Cards, and the progress of the under-construction Morigaon Circuit House. The District Commissioner called upon all departments to work in close coordination to ensure effective implementation of developmental activities across the district.In addition, the functioning and progress of the Irrigation, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, Industries & Commerce, Handloom & Textiles, Women & Child Development, and Food, Public Distribution & Consumer Affairs Departments, among others, were reviewed. District Development Commissioner Orpah Baglari also reviewed several departments and instructed officials to expedite ongoing works. Additional District Commissioners Anusuya Sharma, Dr. Mayurponkhi Bora, Nitisha Bora, and heads of various departments attended the meeting.
